Woo Hoo - I think I nailed it

I had an interview for research assistant today - somebody has to work even if it's part-time and may only help a bit in my finding a job after December.  I think I nailed it :)   It's not a typical librarian job, but I'm a research nerd and this job sounds like a blast to me.

I hope everyone else is having a pleasant hump day!

    Crisis= Opportunity and other Crap

Well DH lost his job yesterday.  Now we're scrambling.  We can live on savings for awhile, but it'll be tough.  I have an interview for a research assistant job tomorrow.  It seems like a good fit and I hope I can get the job.  It's 19 hours a week and that means I can still work on my school stuff and my capstone.  I think I'll be good.

DH was miserable at his job, but I also know he needs to find something soon.  Hell, even contract work now would help pay for bills.

Once again... I feel like I'm going to start bawling.

    Wish us good mojo.

    Should I bother?

    Monday, August 13, 2007, 12:57 PM [General]

Just got a internship announcement from UNT.  The San Antonio  zoo is looking for an intern for the fall semester.  I asked for more information.

The position is unpaid... should I bother?  I mean it will give me added experience...but it will cost me gas.

    I just don't know...you know...

Ah well.... I asked if I would be allowed time to work on my capstone, so if not that'll answer the question very quickly.

    Bleah bleah!!!!

DH found scorpion moltings in our flower beds!  Ick Ick!  Yes, I'm a total wimp about scorpions.  I'm sure they serve some purpose, but that doesn't mean I have to like them.

I tend to flail about when it comes to scorpions and spiders.

And yes I was in the garden earlier ...weeding.  I would like to force the neighbors behind me to pull all the icky bad vines that are attacking my plants through the fence.  They're renters, so their yard is going to pot, while mine suffers for it.

    Oh well...

I finished my summer semester yesterday.  One more class and one capstone to go.  My capstone consists of an intensive week of writing 3 papers that will be about 10-12 pages in length.  I'm pretty sure I can handle it.  I don't work now (other than manuscript writing and the home business), so lucky me.

    Have a great weekend all!

My Opinion Matters... how cool is that?

    Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 02:44 PM [General]

I just finished replying to the music group 'Roseland'. They're comprised of Azam Ali (Vas and Niyaz, and the 300 soundtrack), and Tyler Perry (numerous film and tv soundtracks and scores including 300). Anyways, I was apparently the first person who bought their CD! Woo Hoo! To listen to tracks go to ...

    Roseland myspace page

Anyways, they asked for my opinion on the CD and what songs were my faves.

Vas, Azam Ali, Niyaz, and the 300 soundtrack serve as inspiration for my writings so it's really amazing to be given an opportunity to speak about it. I love this album and I hope I can get more people interested in buying their CD's.

If you want to get their CD may I suggest CD Baby. Great service and I love their confirmation email after you bought something from them.

Also...another new group to me that has been played a great deal here is Dream Aria Love their stuff so far...and they have another CD coming out soon.

This was nice after having to deal with crappy money issues the last few weeks. *sigh* I've been looking for librarian assistant jobs in the San Antonio area and so far nada... I don't want to deal with a librarian I position yet because those aren't part time and I need some time for my practicum.

So anyways... it's nice to be given an opportunity to voice an opinion. Hope everyone is having a pleasant 'hump' day. Wish this darn headache would go away though!
